We have a very firm position regarding Ukraine - we strongly support it politically, said the Prime Minister of Georgia in response to a question from a Ukrainian journalist about the “second front” at a press conference in Brussels.

“Unfortunately, there were several statements made by the Ukrainian government and officials regarding the second front. These were the chairman of the Security Council of Ukraine and advisers to the president, which is quite sad. But I must say that we have a very strong position regarding Ukraine - we strongly support Ukraine politically. We provided humanitarian aid. We have a very special friendly relationship with the Ukrainian people. This is the feeling of the Georgian people towards the Ukrainian people, and when it comes to helping Ukraine, we will be a part of it. We have a very clear position regarding our policy regarding sanctions. We do not join sanctions and we have strong arguments for this.

At the same time, Georgia is not used for circumventing sanctions. So this is a very strong policy that we follow and will continue to follow. So, once again, our positions are very strong and our political support towards Ukraine is very strong because of the special friendship that exists between the Georgian and Ukrainian people”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
