Teimuraz Janashia, the former Head of the Georgian Special State Protection Service during the previous United National Movement party Government, on Wednesday voiced his support for the release of the imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili and his participation in the country"s political processes.
Janashia emphasised that Saakashvili deserved "fair" treatment, asserting that Saakashvili should not be in his current situation.
"Fairness demands that Mikheil Saakashvili should not be where he is today. Mikheil Saakashvili should be free, he should be given an opportunity to participate in pre-revolutionary processes, and he should not be politically persecuted", Janashia stated.
