The 2024 Action Plan for Georgia’s EU Integration was approved at the 71st meeting of the Commission for Georgia"s EU Integration held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. The Action Plan, developed with engagement from every agency, encompasses all directions envisaged by the Association Agreement.

The annual report on the implementation of the 2023 Action Plan for Georgia’s EU Integration was also presented at the meeting.

Reports on the matters above were delivered by Georgia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Teimuraz Janjalia and First Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili.

Prospects of integration into Europe’s unified market based on the principles of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Are were discussed at the meeting.

The Prime Minister pointed out that Georgia’s EU integration is one of the key priorities of the Government, and the Georgian Government’s goal for the nearest future is to launch EU membership negotiations.

The Action Plan for the Nine Priorities Defined by the European Council was also discussed at the meeting, along with the new requirements concerning Georgia’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), and effective measures toward planning, implementing, and monitoring the process of Georgia’s legal harmonization with the EU.
