The Prime Minister of Georgia instructed the Ministry of Economy to start work on providing additional direct flights to Dusseldorf and Hamburg for those wishing to attend football matches.
“As you know, from June 18, the Georgian football team will hold matches at the European Championship. There is already a very high demand for airline tickets, which the airlines have already taken advantage of. The law of economics is that demand determines supply, so the prices of plane tickets have increased. In some cases, the prices have increased several times.
I would like to ask the Ministry of Economy to start working to provide additional direct flights to Dusseldorf and Hamburg. It is important that tickets are offered at a fixed low rate for our fellow citizens. All this is important for both the fans and the football team. The more Georgian fans attend football matches, the better for the team’s success.
It is important for us to ensure the attendance of numerous Georgian fans at football matches. I am sure that the team will succeed and we have to do the best we can. Everything will be done to ensure easy travel to Germany at low prices for our fellow citizens”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
Georgia will play Czech Republic, Turkey and Portugal in Group F of the tournament.
