The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, held a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The historically friendly relations between Georgia and Kazakhstan were highlighted at the meeting.
As Tokayev stated, Kazakhstan regards Georgia as a strategic partner and the Kazakh people cherish high respect for the Georgian nation, history and culture, which is evidenced by the increasing number of Kazakh tourists in Georgia.
He congratulated Georgia on the qualification for the final of the UEFA European Championship.
The parties deliberated on bilateral cooperation underlining the significance of the first official visit of the Speaker to Kazakhstan for the enhancement of the relations between the two countries. The role of parliamentary diplomacy was accentuated in bilateral relations.
The discourse included the consideration of cooperation in the spheres of trade, agriculture, culture, transport, energy and tourism.
The emphasis was placed on the intense role and potential of the middle corridor.
The parties overviewed the developments and reforms in Georgia and Kazakhstan.
