These days have once again shown us the need for this law - Shalva Papuashvili

These days have once again shown us the need for this law. To this day, we don"t even know who financed the technical equipment. Who finances the NGOs who claim to be the organizers of this rally?! Such a statement made today the Chairman of the Parliament.

“I want to thank our police, who showed the highest professionalism during these days. They ensured the protection of freedom of expression and the safety of citizens attending the rally.

As for the law, these days have once again shown us the need for this law. The non-transparency of the organizers of these rallies also showed us this. To this day, we don’t even know who financed the technical equipment. Who finances the NGOs who claim to be the organizers of this rally?!

Yesterday, we finally saw who the organizers of this rallies are - it is the [United] National Movement. We saw them on the stage. In short, they are the ones against this law, the founders of the spirit of this propaganda. Consequently, everything became clear once again that this part of the NGO sector, in fact, became a part of the UNM.

Yesterday we saw that NGOs presented an ultimatum to the Parliament. The one-hour deadline was even told by the head of one of the NGOs, which is funded by the Danish and Dutch embassies. I think these embassies should also state their position. Is this the purpose of their funding to present an ultimatum to the representative body of the Georgian people? What law to adopt and what not?”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
