According to the World Economic Review by the International Monetary Fund [IMF], Georgia has been ranked 9th among the top 10 countries in the world with the highest percentage decrease in unemployment over the last 12 years in.
The IMF estimated unemployment in Georgia would decrease by 11% and equal to 15.7% by 2024, compared to the levels in 2012.
As IMF says, the unemployment rate in the country was the highest in 2010, 2011 and 2012 at the level of about 27%.
“The unemployment had increased in Georgia by the highest percentage point in the world in the period up to 2012. The increase in unemployment in that 12-year period exceeded 16%”, - reads the report.
