The Special Investigation Service launched the investigation of the facts of exceeding official powers against David Katsarava on May 14, 2024, with the signs of the crime under Article 333 (3b) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

The investigation was launched based on the hotline report of Davit Katsarava’s wife, informing that law enforcement officers physically assaulted her husband during his arrest.

The Special Investigation Service conducts all necessary investigative and procedural actions to ensure an objective investigation.

The Special Investigation Service conducts a comprehensive investigation of all crime reports, interviews witnesses and applicants, identifies participants, inspects the scene, requests documentation, conducts forensic and other relevant examinations, obtains video camera recordings from private and public institutions, and studies them in detail.

The public will be informed about the progress and outcomes of the investigation.
