The case “Saakashvili v. Georgia” ended with Georgia’s victory in the European Court of Human Rights, writes the Minister of Justice on the social network Facebook.
“We will inform the public about the details soon”, - adds Rati Bregadze.
The European Court of Human Rights ruled in the case of “Saakashvili versus Georgia”, finding no violations of fair trial rights or legal certainty in the criminal proceedings against imprisoned former president. The case involved two separate criminal proceedings against Mikheil Saakashvili. The first concerned a 2005 attack on the member of Parliament, and the second related to his 2008 pardon of four high-ranking officers convicted of murder.
