Europe has never had so many internal and external enemies as it does now, French President Emmanuel Macron said.
“We have never had so many enemies inside and outside. We are living through an existential moment when our Europe can die - I spoke about this a few weeks ago”, - Macron said at an event in honor of the 75th anniversary of the German constitution in Berlin.
According to him, the main reasons for this are the conflict in Ukraine, as well as economic challenges associated with decarbonization of the economy.
“We are living through a crisis in our democracies”, - he also added, pointing to the growing popularity of nationalist parties.
