Government of Georgia to write off COVID-19 fines for nearly 2 000 citizens

Today, the Government is considering a draft decree to write off fines imposed on up to 2,000 of our citizens during the COVID-19. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“For several years, our citizens have been facing fines, which, in our opinion, would be completely unreasonable to uphold today. Therefore, the Government will decide on the cancellation of these fines at today’s meeting.

The Ministry of Health prepared the proposal. A total of 1,855 individuals and 38 legal entities will be exempted from fines, amounting to approximately GEL 5.6 million. This decision will be discussed today”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
