Our support to NGOs will not diminish, we will try to redirect some of the funds that we have been providing to the Georgian government precisely in order to increase our support to civil society - Herczyński

Our support to NGOs will not diminish, we will try to redirect some of the funds that we have been providing to the Georgian government precisely in order to increase our support to civil society. Such a statement made today the EU Ambassador to Georgia.

“We are here to stay. We have a problem in our bilateral relationship, but we sincerely hope that this problem will be overcome. We are here to stay. We are very patient. We are waiting for Georgia.

Georgia has received a candidate country status, which was a historic achievement. If you ask me if some of the funds can be lost, others can be redirected, or suspended? Yes, these are the measures that are included for sure in the options paper, and it will be for 27 member states to decide.

For sure, our support to civil society and NGOs will not diminish, on the contrary, in reaction to this law, my prediction might be that we will try to redirect some of the funds that we have been providing to the Georgian government precisely in order to increase our support to civil society organizations, who clearly are under huge pressure”, - said Paweł Herczyński.
