The Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Rati Ionatamishvili within the framework of his visit to the USA, met with the Special Advisor on International Disability Rights of the US Department of State, Sara Minkara to introduce the progress and challenges in protection of rights of persons with disabilities in Georgia.

The parties underlined the necessity of bilateral visits for the enhancement of cooperation.

The meeting was held within the 17th Assembly of the Conference of States Parties to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities held in the UN New York Headquarters on June 11-13
