One of the important tasks of our vision and policy is to use the qualifications, knowledge and experience that our compatriots living abroad, including young people, have accumulated for the benefit of the country. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made in his speech at the Diaspora Day forum.
“Georgia is a signatory country of the Dublin Declaration and joins the efforts of the United Nations and the international community to develop a unified approach and vision for global diaspora policy, to create new mechanisms for the strengthening and involvement of the diaspora through international cooperation, to provide conditions conducive to the international standard, and at the same time, to direct the social resources of the diaspora to the development of the country.
One of the important tasks of our vision and policy is to use the qualifications, knowledge and experience that our compatriots living abroad, including young people, have accumulated for the benefit of the country. A number of programs are implemented in order to use this invaluable human resource, connections and knowledge for the further progress and development of our common motherland.
The Government of Georgia will present a package of amendments to the Law “On Compatriots Living Abroad and Diaspora Organizations” to the Parliament of Georgia in the next session.
Our task is to create all the conditions in the modern changing environment, taking into account unprecedented challenges and opportunities, so that our diaspora can participate smoothly in the development process of the country”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
