In 2014, when the EU could not find in its member states those willing to participate in the military mission in the Central African Republic, Georgia saved this mission of the EU, writes the Speaker of the Georgian parliament on his Facebook page.

“We should remember that in 2014, when the European Union could not find in its member states those willing to participate in the military mission in the Central African Republic (EUFOR RCA), Georgia saved this mission of the European Union by sending 150 soldiers (on the decision of the Georgian Dream Government).

In this most difficult operation, we were the only non-member country of the European Union, and in terms of military contingent, we were the second country after France”, - writes Shalva Papuashvili.
