The Parliament of Georgia will elect the Prosecutor General next week. As the Speaker of legislature, Shalva Papuashvili, said at the Bureau, the Prosecutor General’s election will likely happen on July 18-19 at the extraordinary session.

The Prosecutor’s Council selected Giorgi Gabitashvili as the candidate for the position of Prosecutor General at the July 11 meeting and submitted the candidate to the parliament for approval.

The Bureau submitted the issue to the Legal Affairs Committee for consideration.
