The Legal Issues Committee supported the election of Giorgi Gabitashvili to the post of Prosecutor General.

The Chairman of the Committee, Anri Okhanashvili, came up with the initiative to conduct the voting procedure regarding his election without discussion at the plenary session. His initiative was supported by the committee.

Okhanashvili addressed Gabitashvili and expressed hope that he will perform his work conscientiously: “The Legal Issues Committee has expressed confidence in you that you would be elected as the Prosecutor General at the plenary session of the Parliament. We think that, based on your vision, through your past professional activities, you will fulfill the rights and duties assigned to you conscientiously, with high professionalism, in full compliance with the law”.
