CEC Chairperson delivered information regarding October 26 parliamentary elections to Ambassador of China to Georgia

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, met the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia, Zhou Qian.

The official introductory meeting took place at the CEC of Georgia. The key topic of the meeting was the forthcoming Parliamentary Elections. Giorgi Kalandarishvili thoroughly spoke about the efforts made for the October 26 Parliamentary Elections, the ongoing and scheduled activities, as well as issues pertaining to introduction of voting technologies, provision of information and education to voters.

The parties also discussed the significant importance of conducting the elections in accordance with international and the European standards, and pertinent activities made by the Election Administration of Georgia in this regard. Furthermore, as part of the meeting, the persistent challenges and needs of the institution were covered.

At the end of the meeting, the parties explored the perspectives for future cooperation. The meeting took place on July 18 at the CEC of Georgia.
