It is regrettable that the National Endowment for Democracy [NED, US-based] often funds extremist non-governmental organizations. Such a statement made today Beka Odisharia, the Chairman of the Diaspora and Caucasus Affairs Committee of the Parliament.

“As well as such fake organizations as Transparency International Georgia. The funding of the so-called investigative team that slandered Bidzina Ivanishvili was particularly disturbing. He [Ivanishvili] has never concealed if he has any property. This was an insult not only to the Georgian Dream, but also to the Georgian public, because such a philanthropist is respected in the public and it was a slanderous conclusion”, - said Beka Odisharia.

His comments followed after the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs released information about the activities of the NED, claiming that the organization “rallied support for and instigated protests in Georgia against the foreign agents bill” earlier this year.
