Opposition parties do not disclose their funding in whole or in part - Head of Anti-corruption Bureau

The opposition parties do not disclose their funding in full or in part. Such a statement made today the Head of the Anti-corruption Bureau.

“As a result of the monitoring carried out by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, it was revealed that political parties, namely: “European Georgia - movement for freedom”, “Yes to Europe - a constructive strategy”, “[United] National Movement”, “Girchi - more freedom”, “Strong Georgia - Lelo for the people, For freedom!”, “Elene Khoshtaria –Droa” and “New Unity - Gvaramia, Melia” - they do not disclose their funding, in whole or in part.

At the same time, their election campaigns and activities may be financed by foreign donor organizations or other sources, which in turn pay money to NGOs affiliated with these political parties.

According to the mentioned scheme, supporting political parties and processes with foreign money is a threat to the fair election process”, - said Razhden Kuprashvili.
