In 2012 the poverty rate in the country was 30%, which according to him, has been reduced to 11.8% according to last year’s data. 1,120,000 people lived below the poverty line in Georgia in 2012, and now, this figure has been reduced to 440,000. 680,000 people have been lifted out of absolute poverty, which is one of the main achievements, however, the fact that 440,000 people still live below the absolute poverty line is a major challenge and the main thing for us to take care of as much as possible.
