The Speaker of Parliament said today that the “only expectation” he had from the US Congress and the Senate was that they would investigate who among the US Government officials were involved in manipulating the results of the parallel vote tabulation of the 2020 parliamentary elections.

“The only expectation I have from the Congress and the Senate is that they investigate who among the US Government officials was involved in manipulating the results of the parallel vote tabulation in 2020.

It is important to know at what level the then [US] Ambassador was involved in this matter, what she knew or what she did not know.

Since the then Ambassador was a facilitator between the opposition and the Government, and if it is proven that the former Ambassador knew that the results of the parallel vote tabulation was false and concealed it, it would completely undermine the integrity of the facilitation and mediation”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
