I especially urge young people to watch this [parliamentary investigation] process, to see who these people are that call on them to stand by their side, to see what kind of Georgia [Mikheil] Saakashvili’s regime was creating with the green light from abroad. Such a statement made today Speaker of the Parliament.

He was asked about his expectations on whether [Mamuka] Khazaradze and [Badri] Japaridze, who have been summoned to the temporary investigative commission created in Parliament, would attend and whether their attendance is mandatory.

“It is mandatory, and it is in their own interest not to violate the Criminal Code, which they have violated numerous times before. You know that there is a verdict against them for fraud. As for the investigative commission, it is important that the population of Georgia, as well as those outside the country, once again take a look.

I particularly urge young people to observe this process and discern who these individuals are who are now calling on them for support. Who are the Georgian citizens and foreign allies who once backed this regime?

Today, we hear familiar names mentioned in the European Parliament - Rasa Juknevičienė and others. Who are they? They are individuals who stood by Saakashvili’s regime. These are the same people who encouraged him to covertly return to Georgia in 2021 and create chaos in the country.

What we are hearing these days and will continue to hear – Saakashvili’s [United] National Movement regime had a green light for all of this. For torture, for business racketeering – they had a green light for all of this from their foreign patrons.

Tomorrow marks a significant moment concerning the business racketeering issue. Today, some of these racketeers are involved in politics and the media. Mr. [Giorgi] Isakadze, Head of BMG, has openly admitted his participation in business racketeering during the court case concerning the bankruptcy of Cartu Bank. This admission was part of the proceedings, a ruling was made against him. It was either a diversion or some procedural agreement, as he was a co-participant in the business racketeering scheme orchestrated by Saakashvili’s regime.

The individuals involved in this scheme, including those with Isakadze’s questionable morals, are now discussing business and freedom, but their true desire is to return to power and reclaim the authority they previously wielded.

They distributed this authority to supposed businessmen like Isakadze and Khazaradze, enabling them to exploit other businesses and appropriate as much property as possible”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
