Amnesty for confiscated driving licenses. At the initiative of the Prime Minister, a large-scale amnesty for driving licenses confiscated from citizens due to various violations will be announced from January 1.

The bill was discussed by the Parliament at the first hearing during the session.

The draft legislation includes statistics on the number of people who have suspended licences: according to existing statistical data, as of today a total of 35,445 driving licences are suspended, including: 18,310 for drink-driving; 1,134 for causing a road traffic accident and leaving the scene; 3,504 for drug use; 781 for exhaustion of points; 327 based on a criminal conviction; and 11,389 for other reasons, including failure to pay previous administrative fines.
