Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has charged two individuals with the fraudulent appropriation of 102,850 GEL

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has charged two individuals with the fraudulent appropriation of 102,850 GEL.

An investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia revealed that in Rustavi, the defendants deceived the victim by claiming that they were selling an apartment in a built and completed residential building.

To make it more convincing, they sent him pictures of another residential building and convinced him that they were selling the apartment in question, but in reality they sold him an apartment in an unfinished building. Through this act, the defendants fraudulently acquired a large amount of GEL 102,850 belonging to the victim.

The defendants were charged under Article 180, Part 2, Subparagraph “a” and Part 3, Subparagraph “b” (fraud, by a group with prior agreement, in a large amount) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for up to 9 years of imprisonment as a form and measure of punishment.

The Prosecutor’s Office shall apply to the court within the time limit established by law with a request to use imprisonment as a preventive measure for the accused.
