The Chairman of the Communications Commission, Goga Gulordava, and Commissioner Ekaterine Imedadze held a working meeting with Dynamite Obinna, International Policy Lead for Europe and Africa at SpaceX. The parties discussed the SpaceX's operating priorities and future plans in Georgia.

During the working meeting, ComCom representatives provided an overview of Georgia’s telecommunications sector, its future outlook, and the prospects for developing innovative telecommunications services in the country. The meeting also focused on key priorities, including improving high-speed connectivity, strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure, and the further development of satellite internet capabilities.

The topics discussed also included updating existing technical standards and introducing new-generation Starlink user terminals, which are expected to contribute to improved internet speeds and service quality. The meeting further covered the “Starlink for Good” initiative, which aims to strengthen connectivity for local communities and schools.

Representatives of the ComCom’s Competition and Market Regulation Department, Spectrum and Technology Department, as well as the International Relations and Legal Departments also participated in the meeting. It should be noted that Starlink is one of the world’s leading satellite broadband internet systems, providing high-speed and low-latency internet connectivity, including in areas where internet access is unreliable, limited, or unavailable. To date, SpaceX has launched approximately 13,000 Starlink low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, enabling access to high-speed internet across diverse geographic areas.

Starlink Georgia LLC was authorized to provide satellite internet services in Georgia in July 2022 and commenced providing services to subscribers in the second half of 2023

As of June 2026, the company has 5,435 subscribers across the country. Over the past year, the number of the company’s subscribers grew by an average of 200 per month. Internet speeds offered for individual customers range from 100 to 150 Mbps, while services provided to legal entities offer speeds of up to 220 Mbps.
