The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, responded to the demand of the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, that candidate countries should sever ties with the Trump movement.

According to her assessment, such new criteria are laughable and indicate a desire for self-isolation among European bureaucrats.

“Apparently, this is a new criterion being named for candidate countries. Setting such criteria is laughable. Unfortunately, we very often see that European bureaucrats are inclined toward self-isolation and are urging others to act the same way. Such calls are truly unacceptable.

Today, we need more cooperation, more connections with everyone who plays a role in global politics, and the MAGA movement is one of the important movements whose representative currently governs one of the world's most powerful nations. Therefore, severing ties with them is ridiculous and laughable”, - said Maka Botchorishvili.
