The National Food Agency has launched comprehensive safety inspections of catering facilities and kitchen blocks across pre-school institutions.

To assess how readiness standards are being met and to ensure food preparation environments remain completely safe for young children, inspectors from the agency’s Tbilisi department, alongside officials from the Tbilisi Kindergarten Management Agency, are conducting rigorous on-site evaluations and issuing operational recommendations.

Inspectors are evaluating mandatory compliance criteria, including general hygiene standards, structural infrastructure integrity, inventory and equipment maintenance, strict temperature controls, safe drinking water access, and staff preparedness.

The National Food Agency plans to audit 1,645 public and 241 private kindergartens nationwide this year.
