The Parliament supported the merger of the Ministries of Regional Development and Infrastructure with 83 votes in favor and 1 vote against.
The package of draft laws on the Structure, Powers and Rules of Procedure of the Government of Georgia was presented at the plenary session at the III reading by Vakhtang Bachiashvili, Parliamentary Secretary of the Government.
Under the amendment, two state agencies - the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Infrastructure - will be merged into a single institution, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure.
In addition, the position of the State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies will be abolished.
