Positive trends continue in foreign trade, with both total export and domestic export indicators reaching record highs. Such a statement made today Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

"According to the eight-month data, domestic exports have increased by 63.5% and equal 3,286.6 million USD, while the total export volume has grown by more than 22%, also amounting to a record volume of 5,422.5 million USD.

It is noteworthy that in August 2026, exports grew by 24.7%, reaching a record volume for the month of August at 752.4 million USD. Concurrently, domestic exports (excluding re-exports) increased by 60.0% compared to August of last year, also setting a record volume for the month of August at 432.3 million USD.

When assessing the foreign trade trends of the current year, the Deputy Minister emphasized that such a high growth rate in domestic exports means that local production in the country is expanding.

Among them is the growth of products that are competitive on international markets and are exported from Georgia to numerous countries around the world.

The task of the Government of Georgia is to maximize support for the development of local production.

In this direction, the government implements numerous state programs that are ultimately oriented toward raising the competitiveness and productivity of the private sector", - said Vakhtang Tsintsadze.

According to his assessment, all of this conditions, on the one hand, the results recorded in terms of foreign trade, and on the other hand, fosters the growth of economic activity in the country, which is ultimately reflected in the economic growth figures: "High economic growth trends have been continuing in Georgia for the 6th consecutive year, and our expectation is that these trends will be sustained in the coming months and years".
