As she noted, in January-August 2026, the volume of cargo handled in Georgia’s seaports and terminals increased by 24% compared to the same period last year, while the volume of cargo transported by rail showed an 11% year-on-year growth, which is a record figure over the last decade.

“It is particularly noteworthy that transit rail transport increased by 14%, which is the key issue of our discussion today. This growth obligates us to prepare for the next stage of the corridor’s development. Georgia responds to this task through a strategic, 10-year roadmap for transport development, within the framework of which approximately USD 7 billion is earmarked for priority infrastructural projects until 2032. Our goal is to double the capacity of maritime and railway networks and to triple the total infrastructure capacity of the country’s airports.
