Tamaz Shubitidze will lead the Special Operations Department of the State Security Service of Georgia.

The Head of the State Security Service, Tamaz Borashvili, together with his deputies, introduced the new Director to the personnel of the Department, congratulated him on his appointment to the position and wished him success in his future endeavors.

The Head of the Service stated that Tamaz Shubitidze had undergone consistent career progression over many years across various levels within the Special Operations Department, which will further enhance the effectiveness of the unit’s activities in the future. Tamaz Borashvili also thanked the former Director of the Special Operations Department, Roman Kartsivadze, for his service.

The new Director of the Special Operations Department, Tamaz Shubitidze has many years of experience working in the law enforcement system, including seven years in the aforementioned department, where he worked in various positions. Prior to his appointment to the new position, Tamaz Shubitidze served as the Deputy Director of the Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
