"The peaceful resolution of the conflict with the Russian Federation, the maintenance and development of existing trade and economic relations, and conducting a permanent dialogue on humanitarian issues are among the most important priorities for our country. In the absence of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Russian Federation, alongside the Geneva format, the position of the Special Representative of the Prime Minister is assigned a key role in fulfilling these tasks.
Mr. Giorgi Zurabashvili is a highly experienced diplomat. Over the years, he has held various high-ranking positions in the public service; he served as the director of various departments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary; in 2024, he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, and on July 1, 2025, as the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
We are confident that Giorgi Zurabashvili, with his knowledge and experience, will best fulfill the tasks assigned to the Special Representative of the Prime Minister", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
