“They will be punished if Prosecutor’s office establishes guilt and charges them and later court will take into account Prosecutor’s arguments”, - this statement deputy Minister of Corrections Kakha Kakhishvili about persons suspected in inappropriate treatment of prisoners.

According to Kakhishvili, the decision to hand the case to Prosecutor’s Office was made in order to avoid speculations weather the investigation was or was not conducted properly within the ministry.

Chairman of Young Lawyers Association Kakha Kozhoridze once again made comments on the issue and said, that this fact proves positive side of monitoring.

Kozhoridze also hopes, that cameras were on and all what happened is recorded.

The Ministry of Corrections is also holding an investigation within the ministry. The Office of Public Defender Provided Ministry with all the names of persons who might be involved in inappropriate treatment of prisoners. Among them are high ranking officials of the 8^th Prison.
