Traditional Christmas procession started today at Rose Square. Clergymen and parishioners from different regions who have arrived especially for this occasion, walked with various decoration and costumes through Rsutaveli avenue to Holy Trinity Cathedral.

Participants collected New Year"s presents and various donations. The participants received gifts from the members of parliament, the Mayor and City Council Chairman.

The president also donated Christmas gifts to the procession.

Christmas is traditional procession was completed at the Holy Trinity Cathedral with a prayer.

All the sweets and presents will later be handed over to orphanages, institutions for elderly and vulnerable famil ies.

Procession tradition dates back to the 5th century. The ancient tradition was restored 10 years ago at the blessing of the Patriarch.
