Spanish police forces carried out the largest operation in the country against the so-called Georgian mafia, arresting 61 people.Most of them were Georgian nationals, including eight Spanish citizens.
The first part of the operation Aikon 1 was carried out in June and November 2016, during which 50 people were detained.

In the course of the operation Aikon 2, Spanish police forces carried out 26 searches, seized 33,000 euros , eight cars, 7,100 tobacco packs, jewelry and electronics. Europol, French police and Georgian law enforcement agencies also took part in the operation.
