The EU represntative visited Rustavi2 today. The diplomat met with the journalists and informed them on the general position of the EU in Georgia regarding freedom of speech and the importance of media pluralism.

Janos Herman, is not the first diplomat, who has declared his support in this form to Rustavi 2, on November 1 simmilar visit was payed by the US Ambassador.
The European parliamentarians in Strasburg today officially expressed their support to Rustavi 2 as a pro-European and the top-rated Georgian television and fixed their position in the resolution .

The reprot on the freedom of the media and attacks at journalists was prepared by a Ukrainian lawmaker Vladimir Ariev. However, the initiator of amendment on Georgia" and specifically Rustavi 2 was the Estonian MP. His prepared text, of the amendment, which despite dsconcent of the Georgian Dream was included in the resolution with minor changes.

The Georgian Dream tried to fix in the same document different amendment on Rustavi 2.However, the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly voted down the proposal.
