Giorgi Tsertsvadze met with a Public Defender of Ukraine. His lawyer, wife and Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine have attended the meeting.
Public Defender took the Georgian soldier"s case under his personal control.
He will monitor the case until the Ukrainian Prosecutor General"s Office will not officially sign the document, that he will not be extradited to Russian Federation.
" The Public Defender was interested what conditions I had in custody. He has stated that they will monitor the case and explained the mechanisms and conditions, which are needed to close the case,-said Giorgi Tsertsvadze.
Mikheil Ukleba, the Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine has also attended the meeting. As he underlined, The Ombudsman"s Office will stay in touch with Gia Tsertsvadze"s lawyer.
" Investigation continues. Thanks god, Gia Tsertsvadze is free but this proceeding has a legal side , so Ukraine has to carry out all the procedures to complete the extradition process and implement all international obligations,"- said Mikheil Ukleba.
