553 in favor and 66 against- Visa liberalization has been followed by applause a the European Parliament. Prior to the vote debates were held at the European Parliament, where European MPs were talking about importance of visa-free travel for Georgian citizens. Speakers assured that Georgia had implemented all obligations and deserved visa-free travel. They underlined that visa-free regime will enter into the force with the so-called Suspension mechanism .

Skeptics argued that Georgian" connection to organized crime and a huge wave of migration to Europe are the factors, which can hinder Georgia to have visa-free travel. One of the speakers stated based on the newspaper " Resonansi" that IIS uses Georgia or transit.

European parliamentarians and the authorities congratulated citizens of Georgia with great success and advised to government to continue reforms, protect the opposition"s rights and freedom of the media .
