The Patriarch of Georgia underwent an operation . The doctors make first comments in an interview with Rustavi2. According to them, Ilia II is in the intensive care department , the surgery was successful.

" He is doing well,"- states the doctor of the HELIOS Hospital in Berlin-Buch.

The operation started at 11 am Tbilisi time.
