Politicians assess the report of the international organization Amnesty International regarding the lack of judicial independence in Georgia
Amnesty International`s annual report also mentions developments around Rustavi2. The document also mentions the so-called cables case and the European Court of Human Rights ruling regading the extension of Vano Merabishvili`s pre-trial detention.
Deputy Chairman of Parliament, Zviad Dzidziguri said that he had not seen the document; however,he pointed out that during the last yearand a half there have been attempts to present the Georgian Dream as a aprty in Rustavi 2 case.
"They will not succeed. Rustavi 2 owners have changed too many times and in very strange circumsatnces since 1995, that is why the court dispute regarding ownership of Rustavi 2 is a logical development," -Dzidziguri stated.
Giorgi Tugushi, a member of the Parliamentary faction " Movement for Freedom - European Georgia", urges the government to carefully read the report in order to understand what are the problems in the country.
UNM political council member said that the report clearly demonstrates that there is "selective justice" in Georgia
