30 000 people turned out into the streets of Germany to protest against the Islamisation of the west.

The movement "Pegida" organized the protests of the Patriotic Europeans . 

The Demonstrators demand changes in Immigration law and protest against increasing Islamic population.

Reportedly one third of German Population supports the initiation.  But thousands are against. The  counter demonstrations have sprung up and the group has been condemned by senior German politicians. In protest the authorities of Cologne switched the lights off at the Cathedral and some other places of interest.
