US Ambassador to Georgia, Ian Kelly thinks that Rustavi2 is the leading opposition channel. According to him, the independent media, which criticizes the government, is very important for democracy.

"I think that media pluralism is fundamental to democracy. Frankly, I have repeatedly said that plurality of the media is important and of course, Rustavi 2, in my opinion, is the leading opposition channel. Channels which criticize the government, of course are never pleasant for people in the government, but it is very important for democracy and for the principle of holding the government accountable. So I would wish that Rustavi2 did not change the editorial policy and preserved the voice of the opposition, "- Ian Kelly said.
