The US confirms the authenticity of the video released by "Al-Qaeda"

The U.S. has verified the authenticity of a video released by the Yemen-based al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula in which it claims credit for last week’s attacks in Paris, but is still investigating the veracity of the assertions, the State Department and White House said Wednesday.

State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf said the U.S. intelligence community confirmed that the AQAP video, released Wednesday, came from the group’s media arm. But she said the U.S. intelligence community is still going through the video to assess the validity of AQAP’s claims of ties to the Paris attackers, Ms. Harf said. She said Washington hasn’t yet determined if the group’s claims that it financed and planned the attacks in Paris last week are legitimate.

Security measures are reinforced in 300 cities in France.
A large-scale mobilization announced in Paris today, in terms of security, in which 60 000 troops will be involved. Media offices, underground stations, synagogues and Jewish schools are under special protection.
