Kobakhidze criticizes Rakviashvili`s statement

Irakli Kobakhidze criticizes the opposition for misleading the public. According to him, the opposition states that Georgia is a semi-parliamentary republic and names as example only direct presidential election. In response, the chairperson of parliament speaks about the change of the rule of the president as an only one suitable option.

Irakli Kobakhidze criticized the comment of the head of the National Security Council, Davit Rakviashvili, who said that according to the current constitution, only the president is authorized to make decision on the use of armed forces.

The Chairman of the Parliament views the introduction of indirect elections as apossibility to avoid disruption of the functions and responsibilities, and states that the competences are unclear because of direct election.

The Chairman of the Parliament is interested in what the opinions would say when the system suggested by the ruling team is considered fair by the Venice Commission.
