At least 12 people have been wounded in clashes in Armenia between police and protesters demanding the handover of a Russian soldier accused of killing six members of a local family.

The violence erupted when thousands of protesters in Gyumri tried to march on the Russian consulate in Armenia"s second-largest city.
The protesters tried to break into the consulate building, but failed. During the night, the police cordon was mobilized in the center of Gyumri.
At this time, the clash are over as the parties agreed that one MP and one of the protesters will enter the base 102 and will meet Valery Permiakov suspected in the murder of the Avetisyan family. The Armenian side wants to shoot a video recording to confirm that the suspect is still on the territory of the base.
