Soon after the fire started in Vera, politicians arrived at Mtatsminda Park - including Mayor of Tbilisi, chairperson of parliament, "Mayor of Tbilisi", members of majority and Tbilisi Mayoral candidate. Members of the government were also present at the site. They claimed that there was no threat of fire spreading.

Despite the fact that two electric powerstations are located in the surrounding area, the supply of electricity to the population was not limited. After Mtatsminda Park, "Georgian Dream" mayoral candidate, along with his teammates, was in Gogebashvili`s second deadend street where the first fire broke out.
