Mtatsminda"s burned slope may become a landslide zone. The specialists still try to examine the ecological damage caused by yesterday"s fires . Soon a final conclusion will be prepared, where the action plane of the ecology and greenery services will be described.
"According to the basic data, we can say that grass was burning. Now the visual inspection is underway and we will know by the end of the day what is the real picture ,"- said Goga Tsereteli, the head of Greening Department of the City Hall.
Nino Chkhobadze, co-chairman of "Greens Movement of Georgia - Friends of the Earth" states that cutting down burned trees on the slope is inadmissible. As she notes the Mtatsminda slope can restore the resources itself, though it is necessary to strictly monitor whether fire is fully extinguished.
