The Ministry of Internal Affairs responded to the air crash in Borjomi Gorge. The Ministry has released a special statement::

"A helicopter Mi-8 belonging to the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia carried out an emergency landing while taking water from an artificial tank on the river Gujurula.

"According to the initial information, a helicopter crash occurred when water was being taken and the pilot"s professional and operative action made it possible for a helicopter to avoid a major tragedy, as the basket was full of water, and emergency landing was carried out on water.

"For the purpose of prevention and further examination, four crew members of the helicopter were transported to the medical establishment in Tbilisi and their lives are not in danger.

"The regulatory inspection of the MIA"s Border Police"s Mi-8 helicopter was carried out two days ago on August 25. During this time, the helicopter engine was in complete order.
