The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is trying to get information about Georgian sailors detained in Libya. 11 members of the vessel crew sailing under Tanzanian flag, including 3 Georgians, were arrested on August 30.

According to the preliminary information, the detention is linked to sailing with illegal load.

The detainees are in Libya prison for two weeks already. According to the Director of the Maritime Transport Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, they were informed by the family of the Captain Genadi Komakhidze on August 30.

The Maritime Service is negotiating with Tanzania"s relevant service.
The Marine Department representatives will meet family members of the detained Georgian sailors in nearest hours.
